Randi Killian has been searching for the perfect bag almost all of her life. Her “purse vault” is a testament to her endeavors. In fact, she often serves as a “purse therapist,” saving people from bad bag buys and enhancing their overall “purse experiences.” Randi has been knitting ever since she was a sophomore in high school when her best friend’s mother taught her how. It was a skill she mastered quickly and was relatively good at. Looking for something to pass the time while forced to watch Denver Broncos football games, she turned to knitting (something she hadn’t used much). Three weeks and two sweaters later, the local knit shop hired Randi to finish projects for their very wealthy clientele. It was there that she honed her skills and fueled her creativity. But knitting was sidelined in the mid-90s as Randi launched her own strategic marketing firm, Randi B Enterprises. (She thought about knitting but mostly the needles stayed in the drawer.) For the next decade, she helped companies change, grow and protect their brands. The company was successful but several years ago Randi realized she wasn’t enjoying herself as much. More and more she wanted to put her efforts towards marketing her own products, not other peoples'. So it seemed the logical step last spring for Randi to combine her passions for purses and knitting with her business and marketing savvy to create . . . By Randi B Knits. The result: the debut of her line of 11 products (including 2 scarves and a wrap) in the fall of 2006. Randi’s knowledge of what makes a good purse, strong color sense and imagination meld to create perfect bags and accessories. She frequently pushes the envelope with what fibers and colors can do. Her non-traditional approach makes it very clear to everyone. This is definitely not your grandmother’s knitting.
